Middle of the month and time to join in with Clare’s Share Your Desktop Challenge😎👍

On the gaming PC this month I have a shot of Miss Lola hauling a tank of Anhydrous Ammonia from Kansas City (KS) to Corpus Christi (TX)…

The image was taken on US169 in Kansas where there is a mix of farmland and wooded areas. That’s a magnificent Oak tree on the right – an excellent piece of work by one of the mapping developers at SCS Software. Miss Lola is our Kenworth W990 and is a bit of a ‘Lady of the night’ with purple underfloor and marker lights that really show brightly in the dark. With a 455HP engine and 12sp automatic box, she’s ideally suited to the lighter agricultural deliveries and currently is returning the best mpg in the fleet.

On the photo PC we have an image taken on my street…

LFB DPL167 (WX17 XZV) on Long Lane, Finchley

London Fire Brigade appliance DPL167 has just left the station on a shout, its lights shining brightly in the gloom of a winter’s afternoon. I live around 400yds from the Fire Station so this is a part of my normal day😅 I always wish the firefighters good luck as they pass👍

After a busy weekend, it’s time to catch up with Cee’s Midweek Madness Challenge.

Part of my busy weekend was a trip to Margate for an Away football fixture, so here’s an Action shot from the match with one of the Margate players performing an Armlock to stop our Attacker getting free…

Margate 3 vs Wingate & Finchley 1 (2022/23)

Here’s a different entertainment venue – an Amphitheatre where Actors performed…

Fiesole Theatre-1

…Located just outside Florence, it dates to the time of the Roman empire so it’s an Ancient site.

A different type of subject – A Fire Appliance. London Fire Brigade have standardised for quite some time now on the Mercedes-Benz Atego chassis…

LFB DPL1106 (RV52PGK) on Church Lane, East Finchley

Finally, a piece of Aviation history – An Armstrong Whitworth Argosy belonging to Air Bridge Carriers…

G-BEOZ at Speke, MAR81

…Photographed at Speke Airport in March 1981. The eagle-eyed Aviation fans will probably notice the Piper Apache parked behind too 😅

I hope that’s an Adequate Abundance of A’s for this week 😂

New month and time to join in with Brian’s Last on the Card Challenge.

On the Canon EOS 5D mkIII we don’t have the usual football shot. Instead, it’s a shot-to-nothing at St. Pancras on the way home from a match at Uxbridge…

Last on Card Canon_OCT22

…Taken on the 29th, there were a lot of people on their way to Halloween events. I haven’t decided yet whether there is an image here that I want to use 😐

The Last on Card for the Fujifilm X-Pro2 is almost as I want the shot…

Last on Card Fuji_Oct22

…In fact, all it needed was a slight straighten! 👍 Taken on Halloween itself, it shows an eastbound District Line service at South Kensington.

Moving on to the Moto g50. When I popped down the road to the corner shop on October 23rd, I just happened to find the change of watch checks being done at the Fire Station…

Last on Card_g50_OCT22

…The Sirens, lights and all the equipment are checked at the start of each watch and any shortfall or issues made good. If there is an issue that can’t be fixed, the appliance will have to be taken offline. This shot needs to be cropped a bit 😎
