I have used many different frames in the past. Signal gantries and bridges are a favourite ploy with railway images. Here are three, more ‘architectural’, shots for Nancy’s Challenge – though there is a railway connection in the first 😉

A gateway to Europe – Estació de França, Barcelona…

Steps into Fort Belvedere, Florence…

Carrer de la Volta dels Tamborets, Barcelona…

I’m a bit of a prisoner in my own home at the moment and likely to remain so for the next couple of weeks. Alasdair is doing his GCSE exams and I think it’s important that one of us is there when he comes home so he has someone to talk to. All of which precludes more than a casual stroll down the road to the pasture for photography 😦 The upside is that I’m having to revisit my archive looking for shots for some of the challenges and some works that haven’t been published before are seeing the light of day as a result. Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week is a case in point. I took a lot of photos when we went on holiday to Florence in 2015 and many have never been published beyond viewing on the pc by the family. Here are three shots from that set.

A flattened arch forms the roof of London City Airport DLR Station…

The dome of the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore high above the city of Firenze – there’s also the green dome of the Great Synagogue visible in the distance…

And here is a detail shot of one of the side domes of the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore. The architecture of the church contains lots of arches and quite a few half-circles!..
