Oh My! Christmas has really crept up on me this year. With so many things going on in my life, I’ve not been as active with my blogging as I would like. Things will need to change in 2020. Of course, there’s been Epi’s convalescence to keep me busy too. Last night Alasdair and I finally put up the Christmas Tree! Now it’s Christmas morning and I’ll take the quiet of the pre-breakfast calm as an opportunity to wish you all Peace, Love and Happiness!
Or should that be Father’s Day?
One thing I have learned – and as always it’s lots of things encapsulated in one event – is that Fathers Day is… well, it just is! You just can’t win on Fathers Day. Your child will grudgingly present you with a card and gift – after all, it ain’t your birthday. Your Good Lady will pay lip service (without using her lips) to the concept of a Fathers Day while expecting a significantly more direct response to Mothers day. So Dad’s – that’s how the world is – get used to it 😉
Me – I’m settling down to a pleasant evening of music starting with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3Kf1Iy5E6U
And enjoying something from my Son – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UF3Ueqww7M8
You know Fathers Day is great – Mom’s got the Spaghetti Bolognese almost ready – that makes Fathers Day really worth while 🙂
So it ain’t as I painted it, is it?!!
With apologies for video content not appearing in post – Must’ve said summat wrong to Youtube
It’s been a more hectic than normal run up to Christmas with two football matches every week to photograph and the annual SCS Christmas Gift Delivery event to take part in. So there’s been a bit of a lull in posting. I’ve had my tree’s up in my trucks for a couple of weeks now but we only finally got our home decorations up yesterday! Epi is on duty at Church for Midnight Mass tonight and again for the Christmas Day service tomorrow morning. She’s also doing Christmas dinner – we alternate. I’m cooking the Boxing Day meal – Veggie Haggis this year 😉 That means I won’t be at the Enfield Town vs Wingate & Finchley match so I get a rest from Phooty Fotting until New Years Day when Haringey Borough will be coming to visit. Time to relax with the Family 🙂 Let me wish you all the very best for the Christmas period whatever your beliefs may be. I hope 2019 will be a great year for you and yours. Hugs and Handshakes – Martin…
