I don’t know how fast this guy was driving but I’m doing 80kmph in an 80kmph limit and he breezed past me! Remember the days when Rolls Royce’s didn’t break down? That truck on the right is hauling new Scania’s towards the Scania factory! Makes you think don’t it 😉
In reality – just a computer game and I’m sure the new Scania trucks are fine – just a bit of banter for my trucking friends 🙂 I did enjoy this MAN advert though 🙂
What a great advert! Clever, and introduced me to MAN at the same time. I don’t know anything beyond Peterbilt, and I wouldn’t know that except I have a friend who has sold them for 40 years. 🙂
Peterbilt, Kenworth and Mack are US makes that are known to many people over here through films like Convoy, Duel and Smokey and the Bandit. Peterbilt and Kenworth are part of the PACCAR group which also owns DAF in Europe. MAN are part of the Volkswagen Group as are Scania. Volvo own Renault though the two companies seem to act more like a collaboration than parent and subsidiary – Mack is also part of that group. Freightliner are part of the Daimler-Benz group. Such is the way of Globalisation 😉 Next time you’re driving up the interstate watch what trucks you see. There are quiet a few Volvo VNL’s on America’s roads – I was surprised how many I see in videos on YouTube at truck stops!.
