There are some beautiful mods of older trucks becoming available for American Truck Sim. This is a Kenworth 521 made by Igor Virat and can be purchased from https://www.facebook.com/groups/BlueprintMods/ . I’m running her with a 250hp Cummins 275 engine and a Spicer 14 speed box. There’s no retarder… Scary! And the lights on the gauges make the needles impossible to see at night… Even more scary!!! The detail in this mod, especially the gauges (in daylight), is exceptional. And the sounds are superb – have a listen on this video of the real thing!. This truck looks wonderful and drives like a dream.
I understand that there are upgrades to come, so looking forwards to those (although I may have to pay for them).
i really enjoyed the Youtube clip. I can see how the realistic sound would add to the pleasure of the simulator. There is something very relaxing about the drone of the engine.
I’m glad you appreciated the clip Debra – I love the sound of a diesel engine whether it’s truck or locomotive. Relaxing is, I think, exactly what appeals about the Truck Sim games. I’ve had a stressful 3 months at work and the driving has helped me to switch off in the evening.
