The land had a name
Long before we came ashore
Or walked proud beneath the stars
Or made fire
In our pre-history
The Land had a name
We presume
We give names
We Classify
The Land, Life itself,
Categorised
In the bliss of an Ignorance
Protected by a shroud
Of Science or Faith
Far older than us
Older than we can truly comprehend
Does the Land need a name?
A label from us?
We who are just passing?
And what of the stars?
