Today, Vive La France! released for Euro Truck and with the Map rescale for American Truck Simulator in Beta testing, it can only be a matter of time before the original 1:35 scale maps are no more. And with their departure may also go some of those vistas from the original version.
I know that one of my favorite single carriageway roads to the East of Bakersfield becomes a dual carriageway highway in the rescale carving between a trailer park and a rest stop I christened the Adams Family Motel – I wonder if it will survive?…
I haven’t seen any video footage of the road up to Page either and I wonder if this vista will be lost?…
Then there are Highway’s 93 and 95 and the 361 – lonely stretches of highway across largely barren tracts of Nevada. Will their magic be captured in the new map?…
There’s so much potential with the rescale but I just hope these magical places will not be entirely lost. Tonight I parked up Autumn Gal in my garage in Tucson, gave Megan a playful pat on her rump and sent her off to find another ride. I hung the keys on the rack and closed the garage doors for the last time on my current save. When the rescale drops in I shall be starting afresh and eventually I hope to be reunited with Autumn Gal and Megan. But for now it’s time to hit roads in Europe and discover what Southern France has to offer 🙂
