Thanks Patti – nightime is always good for photo opportunities in London and in other towns and cities. The bus is a Blackpool Corporation AEC Swift and thus another London exile 😉
I really think these photos are exceptional, Martin. I envy the clarity in low light, something I don’t seem to capture too well. The first photo, The Northumberland Arms, is really excellent. I love the action in the photo. It seems to be telling a story.
Thanks Debra – I’ve had a lot of practice and, to illustrate the point, the bus photo dates back to 1983 😉 The Northumberland Arms was taken on a very wet night in the run-up to Christmas whilst waiting for a 134 bus on Tottenham Court Road.
Thank you Judith – London is a city that doesn’t sleep so I have lots of opportunities for night photography. I did however go for a bit of variety with the old bus photograph from Blackpool and the Gatwick Express train at Gatwick 😉
Nice interpretation!
Thank you 🙂
Love your first shot.
Thanks Colline – actually I can’t remember if I’ve ever been into that pub. I’ve supped in most of the others in the area!
I miss London, almost as though I can touch the atmosphere you have captured . . .

Beautiful!
Thank you 🙂
Nice to see something in focus. Love night urban shots and these are great.
LoL – Most night shots are in focus but have lots of grain or camera shake 😉 Thank you Marilyn 🙂
You’ve got nighttime in the city summed up!
Thank you Sue – Obviously I’ve lived here too long 😉
🙂
Some of your shots bring back memories of London days… Beautiful!
Thank you – I hope they were good memories 🙂

Well done. I found this a challenging challenge — and you’ve met it wonderfully.
The night time world there, come alive.
