Weekly Photo Challenge: Adventure!

“It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out of your door.” “You step into the road , and if you don’t keep your feet, there is no knowing where you might be swept off to.”

To me Adventure is a state of mind – it may be a good book by the fireside or a film on TV or it could be getting out there amongst the wildest that nature has to offer. We’re all different and one person’s adventure is another person’s boredom. My regular readers will know my preferred modes of adventure: the train journey as in https://2e0mca.wordpress.com/2012/08/12/a-z-story-challenge-f-is-for-fully-fitted-freight/ or the joys of flight https://2e0mca.wordpress.com/2012/02/08/know-your-partner-the-rules-of-flight/ . But at the end of the day Tolkien’s words sum up adventure beautifully for me – you only have to step outside your door to find it! So here’s a couple of photos of my road from which countless adventures have started…

Long Lane Northbound in Summer

  1. Love your seasonal adventures Martin!

  2. Looks like an adventure in both seasons ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. The first one is so beautiful! (I guess I’m missing the winter already… ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

  4. Tolkien knew a thing or two about adventure, he was in my mind for this challenge too. I like your snowy street leading off into the distance.

    • It’s funny how that happens isn’t it – yet we chose different parts from the same section ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m hoping that we get some snow this winter becasue we had none last year!
