Visiting Hours – 2

Yesterday was almost the final visit to the Hospital as they hope to discharge Epi today. I took the Canon 7D in with me to take some photos at lunchtime. I also needed to get a new pair of shorts as the hot weather in England continues unabated so I decided that a stroll over to St. Pancras station would be ideal as there is a Fat Face shop there and I like their clothing. Here are some images from St. Pancras and Kings Cross…

  1. Nice set of images. Hope that Epi is well on the road to recovery. Best wishes.

    • Thank you Matt 🙂 Epi is fit enough to come home but she still has a long road to full recovery. It will be around 3 months before she can return to work.

As a pro-photographer this will give you a smile… I should have been taking the 5D with me yesterday but when I glanced in the camera bag I didn’t clock that I still had the 7D in there from the weekend’s football match – those damned cameras look so similar from behind! 😉

      • I can imagine your surprise when you found out you didn’t have the 5D! My problem is that I shoot Canon at my day job and Nikon for other projects. No issues telling them apart, but it always takes a few moments to remember where all the settings I need to use are. 🙂

      • I have tried Nikon controls on a friend’s camera (D300) and they felt alien to me – I’ve been using Canon since the AE-1 – so I can imagine the fun you have remembering what settings work best and where to find the relevant controls. I also use a Fuji XE-1 but that is so different that you just have to remember what it was like to use a range-finder! It’s a fun camera that produces good results (the lens is excellent) but I wouldn’t want to use it professionally!

  2. Hi there Martin,
Thanks for taking the time to stop by my little corner of the blogosphere and for the follow. Your support is greatly appreciated, I look forward to seeing more from you,
    Have a great day 🙂
    Eddie

Is the top left picture a bullet train? It reminded me of the bullet train in Japan. Nice images as always. Get well soon Epi!

    • It’s a Eurostar train which is based on the French TGV designs and connects England with France via the Channel Tunnel. Thanks for your kind wishes 🙂

  4. Hi Martin. Be well, Epi. And I seriously think those B/W pics of the inside of St. Pancras are so.. constructive. 🙂

  5. Lovely collection of images.

  6. I love the images. Very interesting focus and I would imagine the photography helps to relax your mind as you have concern for Epi. I hope that by now she is resting well at home, and that the lengthy recovery time will not be too hard on her–or you and Alisdair. I’m sure you’re just glad to have her home!

    • Thank you Debra – I do find photography helps with stress! Epi is now home and keeping us busy 🙂 Alasdair is doing things like the Washing up, I’m handling the cooking and Epi is doing the occasional thing that she feels up to doing. We are glad to have her home but there are still some concerns like watching her Potassium intake as the level was a bit high when she came out of hospital – need to see our doctor early next week to get it checked.

  7. I’m glad to hear that Epi is home. Hope she improves day by day.
