Good idea! My husband has a soldering iron that he uses to fix electrical components and It gets very hot!

    • Thanks Theresa – Your husband will know that this stuff melts at around 200 degrees Celcius. But if you’re doing modelling using Brass then you use a range of solders with melting points from over 400 down to as little as 75 degrees Celsius. I hope he remembers to use his eye-shields when soldering πŸ™‚

I’ve never seen him use eye-shields when soldering, but I’ll certainly remind him next time. Thanks!

      • Please… I used to be a Union Health and Safety Officer and I’ve seen someone who got hot solder in their eye 😦
